C0nsiderations:
Always exercise caution when crossing roads and navigating steep paths.
Leave the Country Stores, turn right, then turn right again to join Cilonnen Road.
Pass Cefn Draw on your right. The lane curves left.
Continue along the road to a cattle grid by Whitewalls. Be cautious of traffic.
Follow the shady lane as it opens up with a moderate climb to Carmel Chapel (a satellite chapel to Crwys Chapel).
A bit further, find a bench with wonderful views towards Pengwern Common.
Head downhill and take the first left towards Bryn Gwas Farm.
Continue to Wimbledon and Gelli Hir Reserve, managed by the Wildlife Trust.
From Gelli Hir Reserve, you can:
Continue along the road, turn left, and head back to Three Crosses.
At the junction to Cilonnen, you have the option to take a footpath across the common to Moorlakes and Kittle. This route is 4.5 miles and offers a secluded summer adventure in inland Gower.
To return to Three Crosses via Gelli Hir Woods:
Follow the track to the beautiful lake.
Take the left track to loop around the woods, eventually joining the track that leads to Crwys Community Woodland.
Follow the path along the edge of the farm and fields.
Varied scenery including country lanes and ancient woodland.
Historical landmarks such as Carmel Chapel and Crwys Community Woodland.
Opportunities for solitude and exploration in inland Gower.
