Pass the station, cross the green, and walk past the houses until you reach a small metal gate leading to the coastal path.
Follow the coastal path, enjoying the stretch of coast with cliffs to your left and the sea to your right.
Eventually, you will reach the wooded Oxwich Point. Steps will help you climb around the point before descending to Oxwich Church.
**Oxwich Church**: The Church of St. Illtyd’s is perched on the edge of the cliff, with half the graveyard already lost to the sea.
Follow the lane into Oxwich where you can find refreshments and rest. (See folklore story)
Leave Oxwich and head up Gander Street at the crossroads. This road, sometimes referred to as the Roman Road, leads to Oxwich Castle.
**Oxwich Castle**: A fine Tudor manor house and home to historical affrays. (See below)
Keep bearing left uphill to Oxwich Green and follow the lane towards Slade.
Slade is a lovely beach with a rope to assist you in descending, though it’s not accessible to everyone.
Turn right to rejoin the path back to Horton and Porteynon.
